Many people scoff at amino acids. Some even equate them to the likes of Marc Weiss. While there isn’t any hard science directly applicable to our reefs on their use, I feel there is adequate support and observable benefits for their usage. Below is my stance and experience on their use.
As bacterioplankton (read bac driven) systems […]
We must give all credit to Muzzy and tcblue over at Ultimatereef for this, they have found a good estimate for the amount of Potassium Chloride to dose using JDieck’s Reef Chemistry Calculator.
KCl is 52.5% Potassium by weight, using this percentage and the dosing for anhydrous calcium chloride we are able to get […]
We’ve always been in awe of Scleronepthya and Dendeonepthya corals. Carnations as they are commonly called, are some of the most colorful corals on the reef. For a long time they were labeled impossible to keep. However, with the recent advents of specialty foods, hobbyist have begun having success with these corals, as our friend […]
Update: Due to algae growth we have alternated fuel and vibrance in conjunction with Coral Snow. 3ml CS+3ml Fuel every other day, with 3ml CS+2 drops Vibrance in between. When adding the fuel, we get a green dusting on the glass in less than an hour…but it is coloring up the corals nicely. We’ve also […]
We found this on TuArrecife…seems Brightwell is trying to get into this market. It should make these methods more available, but given the advanced nature of Carbon dosing, we’re not so sure that’s a good thing. Take it for what it’s worth.
MICROBACTER 7Overview:• Complex system of non-pathogenic aerobic andanaerobic microbes, as well as natural enzymes, […]
Proline is smart. Very smart. Knowing height restrictions under stands is always a problem they came up with this screw drive zeovit reactor to release the mulm from the zeolites. (They can turn in both directions to eliminate jams.) The 1.5L and 3L models are only 18″ tall, with the 5L at 23″ making a comfortable […]
