In the just released July / August issue of CORAL, Matt Wittenrich lays out the single best history of mutant designer clownfish you’ll find to date. Matt provides plenty of points from both “groups” on this issue, while still emphasizing their importance to our past and future in this hobby.
This quote from ORA’s Dustin Dorton summarizes the situation well: “Without clownfish, and without designer clownfish specifically, revenue would not have been available to develop commercial techniques for more challenging species like mandarins.”
