The award winning Onzo Smart Energy Kit is a handy and modern way to view your home’s energy consumption in realtime to help curb your electric bill. For aquarists it can be particularly helpful to see the net effect your tank has on your electric use by providing real time data on just how green or not green you actually are.
The handheld Onzo receives per-second energy usage data wirelessly from a self charging sensor that can be easily installed to a cable from your electricity meter. The device can also store and archive this data by connecting to your computer. A very cool concept, that may not catch on right now… but has a range of applications. Currently the Onzo Smart Energy kit is only available in the UK, but the company states they are working with major utility Co’s around the world.
