The small Italian based aquarium manufacturer Vitrea will soon be represented in the United States by Vitrea USA, based out of La Jolla, California. The Italian parent company is extremely small in size and we don’t expect the USA partner to make nearly the impact as say Elos or even Giesemann, but it’s hard to not like that more tasteful rimless aquarium options are coming to the States.
Vitrea first caught our attention with their glass bridge Orbital LED aquarium light (which has since been copied by a Chinese manufacturer ). Given the lower power of their illumination products and lack of marine specific equipment [much of their marine specific items, like the nano skimmer shown above, are actually Elos], we believe this will make a bigger initial impact in the freshwater realm–but we’ll see. Vitrea USA will be “launching” at MACNA over Labor Day weekend.
