This blurry blown up image is the latest LED aquarium light from Elos. The animated GIF file below, was published by French Elos dealer NeoQuarium. In typical Elos fashion they are remaining tight lipped about their new products before the big show–InterZoo–while teasing us with new functionality and a larger model.
What can we tell from this image? It appears a new larger eLite like LED luminaire is in the works. If you look at the first light shown, that flashes white and blue light, the unit is significantly larger than the Elos Mini packaged eLite. Each top edge of the light features two vents for what appears to be nearly twice the width of the current eLite model.
It seems to Elos is conveying that dimming and color control, over white and blue intensity, will be coming to their line of LEDs. We can also see what appears to be a normal eLite fitted with a candelabra shaped holder that packs 3 blue leds on each side, fitted with a unique optic design. Is this the blue supplement that eLite users have been asking for, for years?
I really don’t know. Elos France is truly teasing us. Given the patent situation in the U.S., there is no saying if these units will make it outside of Europe. We’ll have more updates as InterZoo approaches.
