Healthy Gonioporas just got a lot more accessible for aquarists thanks to the new ORA Red Goniopora. ORA has just released this fiery red Goniopora with purple mouths– expect to see them shipping to LFS in the very near future. In addition to being a Goni, it’s refreshing to see a bright red color that will contrast well with the blue, green and purple Acros that have recently dominated ORA’s releases.
ORA states they have been working with this specific strain for nearly 10 years. Were thrilled to see this LPS coral become farmed by such a respected name and we hope it will prove hardy in captivity. Check out the brief press release below.
ORA Now Offering Aquacultured Red Goniopora
After nearly 10 years in production, ORA’s Red Goniopora is finally ready for release. This beautiful LPS coral is bright metallic red and has brilliant purple centers. It is truly 100% aquacultured and is considered to be very hardy. Red Goniopora tends to be an aggressive coral and when placed near a competitor it will supercharge its tentacles with nematocysts which will give them a white tipped appearance.
