The specimen shown above recently landed in Japan and made its way to the popular marine store B-Box. This East Indian Ocean variant is often referred to as as a Mauritian Coral Beauty, and clearly identified by the Potter’s like fine lines on the caudal fins.

We’ve seen them in solid orange and even solid blue. Add in this Mauritius variant and its easy to see why Centropyge bispinosa is one of the most chromatically diverse angelfish species. Hat tip to Yuichi for the image and to John Coppolino for pointing out this variant is documented in Kiyoshi Endoh’s Angelfishes of the World Book, pg 20.

No son I didn't send them. I left you and your mother for a reason. Stop thinking about me. And yes it was your fault.
