Suspect a Mantis shrimp? Or maybe you’d like to hear your largest Pomacanthidae grunt… or even take it with you to the aquarium to show the little ones the sounds of dolphins and whales. That’s the thought process behind Cenk Aytekin’s HARK Acoustic Transmitter concept. A portable device that acts as an aquarium stethoscope, pouring out the sounds of your tank via a battery power speaker–allowing us to hear our otherwise inaudible aquarium habitants.
The HARK Acoustic Transmitter concept attaches to the aquarium glass via a soft and pliable silicone suction cup. To remove, simple press the center button which will break the seal. In an equally easy manner, the user can adjust the volume using the device’s iPod like dial-touch control. It may not be pratical to the masses, but this is one cool, well designed device. If we’re lucky, we’ll see the HARK Acoustic Transmitter make it to production.
