The new Elos Osmocontroller Digital was unveiled months back at InterZoo; keeping to their delivery timelines, Elos now expects a small shipment of these to hit retailers in the next couple weeks, with more arriving in September. The new Osmocontroller Digital will be replacing the popular Elos Osmocontroller II, which has been the de facto standard for Elos set ups.
The new Digital version has an improved interface (see above) and an improved “digital” water level sensor. If you’re still using a float switch based auto top off unit, the Osmocontroller Digital is another reason to upgrade–it doesn’t get stuck on/off from kalkwasser precipitation or salt build up. Yes, I’ve got personal horror stories.
Elos USA writes on their blog,
“So now with the new probe, that has no moving parts and needs no cover, we have greatly improved on what could be the “weak link”. On top of the probe, we have added a much improved interface for your level controller that is both smaller and easier to mount but also much easier to check at a glance to make sure your level controller is working as it should be.
Aside from the functionality, the unit and the new probe just looks very cool.”
Agreed. The new Elos Osmocontroller Digital will retail for $195 and include a power supply, main display unit, osmo pump, USB Level Sensor, and mounting pieces that allow the probe to easily be attached via zip ties. Keep an eye out for them in the coming weeks.
