Building on the success of the Elos Mini, the Elos MIDI is the next generation of mid-range aquarium for the Elos fan in every aquarist. The proportions of this tank are cube-esque, but I believe the elongated proportions are more conducive to creative aquascaping, while also looking better on the simple Elos pedestal stand. And as you can see the images above, the MIDI stand will also feature new color options.
The Elos MIDI will come with the new Elos E-LITE XP; the latest generation LED light from Elos featuring 110 lumens per watt blasting out from 18, 3w LEDs. The initial Elite XP will come with a 2:1 ratio of white to blue, for 12 white LEDs and 6 royal blue leds. Elos has not been forthright on the LEDs used at this time, but all signs point to the new Cree XP-G.
The MIDI will also come stock with the Elos SUMP 400 and NS100 skimmer, which can be upgraded to the NS500. Pricing on the complete Midi set up is still to be determined, but based on discussions we’ve had with the creative Italians, GBD expects a price tag of $2,100 to $2,600 USD. Keep an eye out for more details on the MIDI, as well as the Elite XP and the LED based Aquataop seen on the MIDI at the far left in the above image.
