You’re looking at the first image of the finalized Elos Expert Line Phosphate (PO4) Test Kit “resolution chart”. The colorimetric based kit  [h/t Sev] uses two test tubes, one of which is a control, that are slid into the simple foam folder. To find the actual measurement the user then looks directly down the tubes and matches the color.

The new kit will retail for $47.99 and has just hit retailers. Yes Elos fans, the new Expert Line PO4 is currently available from Elos retailers such as Premium Aquatics and Aquarium Specialty. They will also be up on the Elos USA store shortly. The same goes for the Expert Line Potassium (K) kit as well.

We’re curious to see how this new kit and the new Hanna Checker stack up against one another. Some swear by titration, other swear by colorimeters.

Have to give one a whirl since my preferred retailer doesn't seem to carry DD anymore and this looks, well, the same process in different packaging.

This article doesn't make sense. If this is a titration kit, what's with the colorimetry?

A titration kit gives a definite end-point, like most calcium and alkalinity kits. It's not what color it changes, but when it changes color.

This appears to be a standard colorimetric test, though one with better resolution than many.

Sev, you're correct. It is a visual colorimetric test kit. Our apologies on the confusion.

Any details on approximately how many tests you get with one kit? At that price is it worth just going with the Hannah digital unit?
