Ecoxotic Sunparks it with Par38 LED Spotlight

Ecoxotic has just released information on their new PAR38 LED spotlight. Less the black finish, the light appears identical to the household Sunpark PAR38 LED lamp and the NanoCustoms PAR38 LED spotlight that we’ve previously reviewed. It comes as no surprise that the light also draws 21w and uses Cree LEDs (most likely XR-Es). The Ecoxotic PAR38 LED is available in two color combinations–a white Color (3 white and 2 Royal Blue LEDs) and an all Royal Blue (455nm) flavor.

It’s no secret that Current and Ecoxotic have used Sunpark in the past and one could deduce that this is a natural extension of that relationship. Nonetheless, with pricing nearly identical to the NanoCustoms Par38 we’re left wanting more. Based on the initial information provided, color appears to be the only distinction between the two. We’re still waiting to see this Sunpark body fitted with the more efficient XP-G.

Interestingly, when clicking on the PAR38 images on Ecoxotic’s website, the title of the framed page states “Ecoxotic PAR36 LED aquarium lights” on all images. Most likely a fat-fingered-error, but we’d gladly welcome the more compact PAR36 body.
