I’ve been away the past week or so, completely removed from the connected world. Apparently some coastal towns in California do not have cell phone signals or high speed internet. No 3g, edge or even wifi, gasp! As I’ve re-entered civilization I’ve been inundated with reefing news and unique stories. That said, this stunning Scolymia australis from Ian at Reef Odyssey made it’s way to the top of the to-write-about pile.
Sure the candy apple reds and greens are common, but add in dashes of gray, purple and blue and you’ve got yourself something truly unique. This style of Scolymia australis has clumsily been dubbed a “spirograph scolymia”, I’ll just stick with beautiful. Check out this piece over at Reef Odyssey.com
