Say hello to the new ATI Purple Plus T5 lamp. ATI’s answer to the popular KZ Fiji Purple provides a blue spectrum that mirrors ATI’s Blue Plus lamp, but also provides some nice warm spikes in the 600 – 700 range.
What’s interesting is ATI’s revamped website no longer lists their ATI Pro Color. The Pro color is / was a pink-er colored lamp that provided ample light in the 660nm range. This lamp looked extremely promising, but as many found when using multiples, aquariums gained an overly pink hue. With the new Purple Plus lamp we see the red wavelength have been scaled back, providing the said purple tone. The ATI Purple Plus should mix in better with white and blue lamps.
No word on PAR numbers at this time. We expect pricing to be inline with current ATI models: $20 – $25 + depending on size.
