Vertex Aquaristik has just released their new line of a Puratek RODI water filtration units. The first model available is capable of 100GPD and retails @ $300. Some features include:
- Quiet & efficient booster pump
- Easy to read oil filled pressure gauge
- Built in TDS-out meter with a automatic back flush system

- Back pressure solenoid shut off for reservoir tank systems
The Puratek filtration line was designed around efficiency and longevity. With the included booster pump, the waste water ratio nears 1:1. That is for every one gallon of clean RODI filtered water, only one gallon of waste water is produced. Most standard units have waste water ratios of 3-4:1 depending on the pressure.
This Puratek unit also comes with a small microprocessor onboard to automate back flushing. If you do not flush out your RO membrane, you should be. Flushing the filter will prevent TDS creep and keep your RO membrane lasting longer. To let you know when filter changes are needed, an inline TDS meter and pressure gauge will provide the necessary info and allow you to change your filters when appropriate.
