Warner Marine has released a new reef supplement–Ultimate Snow. Based on the description, and to be frank the blue bottle too, it sounds just like ZEOvit’s Coral Snow. Warner states the product is a blend of multiple carbonate based “micro-fine particles” that increases skimming efficiency, clears water, and acts as a nutrient transporter when paired with amino acids and trace elements.
We’re big fans of ZEOvit’s Coral Snow. People always ask how I keep my water so clear. For me the trick has been VSV, ROX activated carbon and coral snow. The combination gives the illusion of floating fish. Coral Snow, and now the mimetic Ultimate Snow act as a mineral flocculant. Meaning it causes particles in the water to clump together. It is then removed via protein skimming–note the chalky like substance in the collection cup after dosing Coral Snow.
Estimated retail pricing for Warner Marine’s Ultimate Snow is below. The prices are less than KZ’s Coral Snow, but will it perform the same? We’ll have to see.
- 8oz $19
- 16oz $32
- 32oz under $50
Expect to see Ultimate Snow become available next week.
