If you every happen to take a trip muck diving mecca, Lembeh Strait in North Sulawesi make sure to get their reef manicures compliments of Periclimenes magnificus. These small transparent shrimp can be found among corals and anemones throughout the western pacific–occasionally this species makes its way into the aquarium trade. P. magnificus, and nearly all Periclimenes shrimp for that matter, are entertaining invertebrates that can ad that extra bit of diversity to any tank.

    Oh, oh, oh...sorry about that, I thought it was supposed to be like the whole doctorfish phenomenon. Sorry about that:)

    @Nick, Mr. Petersen was in a shallow reef taking photos and the shrimp hopped on to perform their duty--to my knowledge it is not advertised as a spa treatment!

    I wonder if there's any health issues to the shrimp when utilized in this way. I know using those freshwater doctorfish for feet cleaning was popular at one point, but then I think it became controversial and then banned to some extent. Personally, I think it's neat, but I am curious if it aversely affect the creatures themselves at all.
