    Crazy Two-Headed Asian Arowana

If two heads are better than one, and Arowanas bring good luck… what would this these fish do? This video of a live Siamese Asian Arowana was taken by Neoprodigy during his trip to the Imperial Arowana Breeding farm in Singapore. I always find natural oddities fascinating, including freshwater fish like this specimen. That said, I feel bad for the fish. I hope these truly were a natural occurrence and not bred for this reason.

Perhaps others know how these fish fair into adulthood. They have been sold in the past. Here’s one for sale in the UK for £58,000 or $93,000USD. At that price a Peppermint Angelfish looks affordable.

You’d have to figure that if a variation of this can happen with humans, it can happen with fish, right? But like you say, Eric, it is sad. Human conjoined twins usually have shortened lifespans (although didn’t the Chinese conjoined twins live to be pretty old?), so you’d think the same would be true. Well, at the same time, maybe without knowing any different, the fish are perfectly content as is…but I can’t see the video here at work, so maybe I’ll change my opinion once I see it at home.
