The 170w RDII DC Skimmer pump by Royal Exclusiv has landed in the US. Some anxious owners already have them in their hands. For those not familiar with DC pumps the largest benefit is the controllability and efficiency. The RDII’s RPMs are completely controllable, meaning the air pull and water throughput are also controllable. Below are some pictures of the RDII skimmer pump with its revamped white volute.

Don’t let the placement on the BK200 fool you, this 170w skimmer pump is quite powerful. Klaus has placed different intake nozzles to help adjust air intake for the specific skimmers, but again the intake can be further adjusted via the motors RPM. Also the US skimmer pumps will be shipping out with the “newer” venturi design that includes an ozone port. To give you an idea of power, take a look at the 170w RDII flow pump.
