This past weekend SCMAS hosted had their very own reef event–Reefapalooza, at the O.C. Fair & Event Center. If you were unable to make it, like myself, we’ve got you covered thanks to the photo work of GBD contributor Ian Borchert. After talking with many people the conclusion seems to be it was a great, relaxed and fun event that tended to be coral dominated with a product emphasis on LEDs.

Enjoy the photos below and keep an eye out for more in-depth articles.

one last comment if i may!

it appeared to me that many of the vendors really had a lot of room for growth when it came to marketing, advertisement, and enthusiasm.... my suggestions: display ALL or at least MOST of your products, be excited about what you're selling, look professional, and for crying out loud- put that darn iphone away. (sorry, just had to vent) kudos to seachem who successfully accomplished all of the above.

i saw flyers for GBD at one of the booths. i enthusiastically asked if either of the two gentleman behind the booth were eric from glassbox, they both said "no" and i regretfully walked off!

ps.... sunlight supply had a prototype of their tek T5 light fixture on display. the new prototype included one small cooling fan (didn't really seem quite addiquit enough to me) and new reflectors. the new reflectors appeared less reflective and with a matt finish rather than a mirror fininsh. appon questioning them however, the rep (who's name i missed) assured me the reflectors are infact "more" reflective then their predecessors!
