i went and saw the tanks in gainesville yesterday and they are very nice quality, the seams are great the edges are beveled nicely. great tanks well worth the money-

What about trimless? That’s seems to be all it is. Just trim.

Trimless
Protective edgeless
Edge guard-less
Plastic-less
upper euro braceless

“Rimless” is what almost all Tank manufactures have adopted to describe this “style” of tank. I doubt your going to change it at this point.

So now not only do I have to get a sweet frameless (that seems like the best word) tank, I need one with nice seems. My list is getting bigger.

The problem is, regardless if it’s a misnomer, the canonically-accurate alternatives just sound so damn nerdy. Braceless? It sounds like a kid with back problems in high school that everyone used to pick on but doesn’t now. And that… that really goes against the idea of tanks that lack traditional bracing a little bit.

Nice to see these popping up all over the place, Eric. Surely it’s gotta be positive pressure on tank builders to lift their game a bit

I once used the term “rimless” to describe my aquarium to a neophyte, and he replied “I am trying to envision an aquarium without a rim..”

Therein lies the misnomer.

How about frameless? or frameless-braceless? heheh.

What’s wrong with using the word “rimless”? I suppose it depends on your operational definition of “rim” but even Webster’s Dictionary has “frame” as a definition and synonym for “rim” and I’m sure we could all agree that the plastic trim could also be called a “frame”.
