I Have a Similar Size aquarium 48"x25x18 and I started with 2 x 1000 led in reef white but this was infficient so now have 2x 1000 marine white tiles, 2x 1000 reef white tiles 1 aqua beam 500 marine blue and 2 x aquabeam combos which now gives the right quality of light to support hard corals, let me know if you want some photos

I am interested in AquaBeam 1000HD c/w controller.. but like the other single strip options as well.

Can I get this anywhere in Canada or close. How much? + ship

(tank is 90 GAL. 48" X 18" X 22" Should I get Qty2 pads .. one controller.. or qty 1 of each is enough, or go with the strip ideas
Thank you

I've been thinking about this post for some time, and think it could be a great product. I have an idea for an LED lighting system that might be a little more flexible. I mean, given the endless amount of personal preferences out there when it comes to reef lighting, I think an even more modular design might be better.

My idea is based around an aluminium square matrix that would allow 2"-3" square LED modules to be simply clicked into the pre-wired matrix. Each module would have their own individual headsink with perhaps a lensed bank of 3-LEDs. The modules could be sold as 3-white, 1-white 1-blue 1-royal blue, or any combination. The prewired matrix could then be programmed to allow each module to be controlled individually allowing endless intensity and colour options.

Not sure it really makes sense without a drawing.

Well, if nothing else, it certainly makes you think that the new lighting revolution might be on the way. While it's still well out of my price range, things always start out that way and the benefits of being more ecological and saving money on energy costs is really promising. I'm really crossing my fingers for the whole LED revolution to take hold and become an "everyman(or woman) light".
