Starting right-now (12:01 AM EDT) until July 4th voting will be open for MOFIB‘s Board of Directors (BOD). For those unfamiliar with MOFIB, it stands for Marine Ornamental Fish & Invert Breeders and hosts the preeminent online forum on captive breeding of marine species. We at GBD strongly believe aquaculture and grass root, hobbyist level breeding is a must for the future of the hobby. MOFIB has in the past, proven to be a unique platform to foster this and share valuable knowledge–although this has been rarely seen lately.
Recently political distractions have taken away from the spirit and drive of MOFIB. With the upcoming BOD vote, there is the chance to make your voice heard and help the forum progress.
Unfortunately, as a frequent lurker of the site I am not able to vote–eligible voters must have made 2 posts in the breeding forums [See complete voting eligibility here]. That said, I strongly encourage all eligible members to vote. I hope to see the members elect the BOD they deem best fit and move forward.
If you are an eligible voter, take a moment and choose the 4 candidates you deem best fit. You can find the eligible candidates and voting instructions here.
UPDATE: A new Q&A thread has been started where members can ask questions to the candidates.
If MOFIB lives up to its potential it has the ability to significantly advance our hobby. Please spread the word and encourage those who are able to vote.
