Halloween is tomorrow. Kids rejoice and parents cringe as thousands of American little ones get more sugar into their bloodstream than they have had in the prior 6 months combined. For aquarists it doesn’t mean much–really nothing at all. Maybe you get to show off your tank if you’re hosting a Halloween party, but that’s about it.
That’s why I found it odd when a co-worker, initially in jest, suggested I was looking at coral to decorate my aquarium for Halloween. Sure enough, these green-goblin-meets-the-hulk Ricordea yuma from Unique Corals seem to fit the Halloween spirit as best as any coral can. Afterwards my co-worker inquisitively asked if “fish people” actually decorate their aquariums for holidays (with different colored live coral). I gave a long awkward pause before answering so that they could comprehend what they actually just asked.
Have fun and enjoy the weekend– we’ll see you on Monday with enough aquarium related news and information to make you forget what you ate and/ or wore over the weekend.
