As long as I can remember Vortech owners have issued reef-addict pleas to EcoTech, begging for an interface that would allow the Vortech line of pumps to connect with their own controller–such as the Apex, Reef Keeper Elite or Profilux III. Combinging their business and engineering intelligence, EcoTech has listened to these suggestions and responded with a unique controller development kit that is available to the industry’s leading controller companies–allowing third party controllers to communicate wirelessly with the Vortech Wave Driver, much like the MP40w does in sync and anti-sync modes.
“We have heard our customers’ request and have worked diligently to bring a solution that will maintain the same level of quality and technological superiority that you have come to expect from us”–Time Marks, President
The controller development kit comes with the necessary items so that controller manufacturers can develop their own interface that will communicate wirelessly with the Wave Driver (that comes standard with all Vortech pumps). While the Wave Driver is more than adequate, as controller companies develop their own Vortech interface it will allow users to control their entire system through one single device. SOme other unique enhancements could be had as well–e.g. if EcoTech releases a firmware update, users would be able to download the firmware through their aquarium controller and remotely update their Vortech.
Who is going to best implement wireless Vortech communication into their line of products? We don’t know, but we’re anxious to find out how Vortechs will begin being implemented into the 3rd party controller market.
