Deltec has released updated photos of their new skimmer featuring bright white construction. We previously wrote about Deltec’s initial prototype and the new TC2560 features the same patented bubble plate and needlewheel pump capable of pulling 1500lph at just 25w on 230v 50hz. Those numbers are from handmade prototypes and Deltec believes the final production will improve upon them. The skimmer also includes an air silencer and unique gate valve on the output for fine water level tuning.

The body is just shy of 10″ at 250mm with a 5.5″ (140mm) neck and a total heigh of 23.6″ (600mm). Deltec has the footprinted listed at 330mm x 450mm (13″ x 18″), but we are unsure if that is just the base plate or a true footprint including the pump extending over.

The motors again appear to be AquaBee, but with a modified volute. Still no word on price or additional information regarding the patent. More information on the pumps and overall design here: New Deltec Prototype.

Definitely different and interesting looking. Gotta say, it also looks like it’s going to be pretty expensive too, but hey, lots of skimmers are-nothing wrong with fitting in!

It looks really odd. I think it will work well tho

It looks interesting/pretty nice, I just wish Deltec would get away from using the extruded acrylic, if they didn’t have a deltec sticker on them I would compare the to a ASM skimmer:(

This skimmer looks great, very nice desgin.
but I really can’t see any new innovative ideas

all the ideas and functionality that you described already exist

The only improvement is the AquaBee 5000 pump that preform great.

also it’s seems that the contact time is very short with comparison to new skimmers, since the bubble plate
located high within the skimmer body, I think it would be better to desgin the bubble plate lower but it probably will reduce the pump performance and consumes more electricity.

I also think that cone desgin is much better or at least cone neck.
