Chingchai already has two of the best reef aquariums known to the world. We showed you his rarely seen soft coral reef display earlier this year, thanks to Mike Cliffords trip to Thailand–where Ching and his beautiful aquariums reside. Ching’s latest build spares no expense and is the culmination of expertise and lots of planning.
The rendering above shows the size and aesthetic of this creation. The aquarium measures in at 120″ x 48″ x 48″, for a display tank volume of 1,197 gallons. Adding to this is a massive filtration system featuring a 25″ in diameter Bubble King 650 External and an equally impressive 1500w Red Dragon II DC pump that is capable of pushing 13,000 GPH or 50,000 L/H.
As for lighting… the eight 400w Metal Halides in Lumenbright reflectors will more than suffice. These are integrated into a massive metal light rack that has been skinned in white laminate as a floating canopy. This can be adjusted up or down via remote control to change light intensity or make it easier while performing maintenance.
The tank is still in the works, but for a teaser check out the video below. The attention to detail here is second to none.
More evidence that reefs are more addictive than crack truly an obsession.
