With tanks that think high clarity glass does not really matter. ADA tanks are nice, however I've had a 120p come close to failing. The silicone seams on the newer type ada tanks are not as nice as the older tanks. I've had 5 ada tanks in total.

the description on marine depot says "produced using high clarity glass." i was hoping that meant it would comparable to ada. did it not look much clearer than most aquariums? i was planning to buy this size, so i'm appreciating this post!

ADA are gorgeous aquariums. The seam work is incredible, as well as the polished low(er) iron glass with which they are made. With ADA, you really see the attention to detail and get the feeling of true passion, the feeling most often associated with the dedicated Japanese aquarist culture. Although I think the Mr.Aqua tanks are a step in the right direction, ADA are more than worth the minimal price difference in my opinion.

ADA silicone seams are perfect. These are not so much so. Also ADA's glass is very clear, even though it isn't starphire. I'm not sure if these are similar to that quality or not.

@Nat
I called MD about their high shipping costs. They said they now have to ship the largest tank by freight. Even though they are well packaged including fragile stickers, UPS still manages to break them.

When you add in the shipping costs that Marine Depot is charging for the larger size, these aren't a whole lot cheaper than the ADA equivalents.

Doesn't look like the seams on these tanks are that well done, a little messy IMHO.

With regards to the whole rimless/braceless naming conventions - is it not technically more correct to call them braceless aquariums more so than rimless? I mean all aquariums have a rim, but not all have bracing?
Food for thought maybe?
