I would say a HEAVILY STOCKED 50g is about the minimum for this skimmer. When I designed the original (the specs are still the same overall, with some ‘logistical’ changes made to simplify manufacture)If there is interest, I also made a design for an even smaller version, only about 100-120 lph (good for 20-30g). 3″ base diameter, 12″ height. The problem that the cost doesnt go down proportional to capacity (if you do a cost comparison of the smaller to larger models, you will see the $$$/lph ratings make the largest models the best bang for the buck). There are certain cost constants that dont change, like the labor to actually build the cone and piece it together, customer service, etc. So you are talking hundreds just for a Nano skimmer.

@ Ed, I would agree, but it really depends on the bio-load and footd input. For modestly stocked tanks 60g would be near ideal with just shy of 400lph and a cone body.

i have one in the mail for going in about 35 ro so gallons, so well seehow it does on smaller volumes. i did get it with an upgrade in mind but well see !
