Whether you are an avid diver, aquarist, or ocean loving individual these are 4 Underwater Photography blogs that you ought to know. The images by these photographers provide terrific inspiration for all areas of life, not just aquariums.
First up, Tony Wu’s Blog. Tony typically updates his blog every few days, but the wait is well worth it; his photos are in a class of their own. In addition to his photography he discusses life out of the water, photography techniques, and other miscellaneous items that life throws at him. He’s a modern day reef flaneur traveling from spot to spot. Fortunately for us he shares his experiences on his blog. Be sure to check out his Flickr gallery as well.
If a picture is worth a thousand words then the stunning images at Ocean Paradise by Michiki easily make up for the lack of commentary for those that cannot read Japanese. Michiki must be an aquarist as well… his choice of subjects and framing readily relates to advanced hobbyists.
Pisces Kazu is another Japanese photo blog worth a visit. He captures stunning images of rare and unique animals… like these vibrant wrasses.
UWET is Brian Francisco’s blog and musings from East Timor. Brian captures some very unique images like the 0.5cm baby frogfish above or this bizarre ghost shrimp. These bizarre animals will leave you wondering what else is out there.
If the 4 blogs are not enough to scratch your reef itch, check out these flickr groups:
