Update: So far the fish are doing well. Marie, the C. Collare has a little lympho. She does have me alittle concerned because she only picks at a few cyclopeeze throughout the day…but she is constantly grazing on polyps and LR. We contacted LiveAquaria and they could not tell us what foods she was eating. Initially a rep told us “mysis and brine”… highly unlikely given her size. Luca, the C. declivis has adapted very well and has left the corals and snails alone for the most part.
They have names. Yeah we’ve begun naming our fish, why not? Luca is the C. declivis and Marie is the little C. Collare
Little Marie (C. Collare) scared us at first. Within the first minute, she literally went around and ate at least one polyp of each SPS in the tank. She was going to town. Today she has calmed down a bit and only nips occasionally, preferring the algae and pods of the liverock.
Luca (C. declivis), is just a sweet pig. He devours any food we add and loves attention. When he get’s hungry he does go and munch on our Tub’s Blues and Acropora Horrida. He also killed two snails… We’re feeding the tank heavily to keep it to a minimum. (Really it’s not as bad as it sounds…)
Overall they haven’t done any real noticeable damage and are great additions. They frequently swim together along with our Copperband and it’s a pretty amazing site. We can’t wait to get another Collare (… or two) for Marie.
Enough with the ramblings, here are two photos we took today:
