In just under 1 hour of being posted on the Live Aquaria’s Diver’s Den this beautiful Lemonpeel Angelfish, Centropyge flavissimus variant, sold. $300 is not cheap, but I have never seen an “aberrant” quite like this. Who ever purchased this got one beautiful specimen.
This specimen was listed as an aberrant, but in my opinion it looks like a hybrid with Centropyge vrolikii, perhaps even Centropyge eibli. The pale face, orange eye, dark tail and blue dots are often found among these hybrids. Shown below is a flavissimus x vrolikii hybrid Live Aquaria previously had for sale showing more C. vrolikii traits.
