Our friend Leonardo, from the Netherlands, is known on most of the major forums due to his beautiful staghorn garden known as the Formosa Forest. He was one of the first to do a rimless with minimal live rock reef display. We lost contact with him for a while, but found his updated thread over on The Reef Tank  now on Reef Central.

Since last seeing his tank we were shocked at his great growth and coloration! We are also excited to see he is planning an upgrade to allow these mature colonies to continue growing in size.

Leos Forest

Granted this tank is already of top-selection caliber, but we’re holding off for the time being so Leonardo can shock us again with his new set-up ;)  He should be launching a site this summer, so keep checking our link’s section for any additions.

You can check out Leonardo’s Forest evolution – original thread  or his new build thread – the upgrade.

  • One of my favorite BB tanks! I plan to use very little rock as well in my new system.
  • I have also post about his great tank in my blog. Before blogging, I told him that I scraped his photo. :)

One of my all time favorite aquariums; I can't wait to see what he does with the extra space.
