Maido ! Tetsuo,

I am surprised C. personifer is only $400! I would think that the $800 price would be the cost here in the USA. I am glad though, not every rare fish needs to be so expensive.

C. duboulayi variants can be very beautiful. Recently there has one with orange lines, but I do not know where it ended up. Do these variants come to Japan often?

Hi Eric,
Before many people had not mentioned this.
Usually we said Chaetodontoplus personifer from west Australia with $400.
I think last year, people started to say “True Chaetodontoplus personifer”, and the price was increased to $800-1000.
This year, fortunately the price goes back to $400. (We are happy)

I would like to tell you one thing.
Usually Chaetodontoplus personifer comes with Chaetodontplus duboulayi (variant) that has more orange color than Chaetodontplus duboulayi from GBR.

Are there any places in the states that get these rarer fish in on a regular (or even semi-regular) basis? I know Old Town does occasionally, and I've seen some come through Live Aquaria Divers Den and Blue Zoo every now and then...
