    new skimmer – DAS EX-2

We’ve been skimmerless since Friday after selling our Deltec MCE600.  We purchased the new skimmer weeks ago, and thought it was arriving the week we sold the Deltec…but the vendor had to wait for a part so the shipment was delayed. Anyway here’s some pics. It’s a DAS EX-2 with dual aquabee’s, injecting 1000lph of air. It’s currently getting a vinegar bath, and we should have it connected in a day or two.

Looks like that will be a beast on your tank. Is it going under the stand or are you hiding it behind the stand?

      Hey Mike,

Yeah it’s pretty big for the tank 🙂 It will be behind the stand. Just got all the parts to hook it up and should have it up and running tonight.

Where do you buy these skimmers?

      Hi Jim,

They are sold through Pet-o-rama, who is Dutch Aquarium Systems, in Texas.

Make sure the item you wish to order is in stock first… they are not known for their customer service or turnaround times…

Is it true that DAS will be outfitting they’re new skimmers with the laguna askol pumps? Thanks in advance

I doubt that to be true, but I do not know. I’d suggest contacting DAS directly to find out.

      Regards,

      Eric Michael
