Hi Brian,

Thank you for the clarification and professional response. I apologize I did not get to meet you at MACNA. Every time I walked by you seemed to be busy helping customers... a good thing at an event like MACNA.

While it is difficult to argue with the reputation and history of H&S, the increased contact time and air capacity gained from utilizing more of that giant body would be a plus to many based on appearance. Thanks for sharing with us the top band design of H&S. I have generally noticed it on other models, but with the A400 being so massive it is much more noticeable.

Regards,
Eric

Please note that the airflow that was reported at 850lph for the A400 is not correct. The airflow on the A400 is 1100-1200lph. If using too small of intake on the airflow meter, then it will restrict the air intake and cause false readings. If the competing company that took the reading would of asked for help when measuring the airflow, we could of explained how to get proper readings.
H&S designs their external skimmers to have full air capacity from the top band up. This is to provide a higher bubble density in a given space, and to also eliminate micro bubbles from returning to the sump. By spreading the air throughout the whole body will actually decrease performance.
