MACNA XX | Atlanta, GA – September 5th to 7th

MACNA XX is just 10 days away. I’ll be attending the event, and I suggest you do to. If you’re thinking you will not be able to find a hotel, don’t fret. On Priceline we found a 4 star hotel 4 blocks away from the event for $80 a night.     For me, the highlight […]

For me, the highlight of the event will be taking place Friday Night when Koji Wada of Blue Harbor gives his presentation on Japanese Aquariums. Our friend and expert aquarist Tetsuo Otake will be there to help translate Mr. Wada’s presentation.

Koji Wada will present images of beautiful and rare fish that have come into Japan over the years. Perhaps even photos of the Paracentropyge multifasciatus x Paracentropyge venustus hybrid that came into Japan last month! The last one that was collected and sent to Japan was  ~20 years ago. (Tetsuo told us that he saw this specimen last week and that she is very aggressive. Unusual for Paracentropyge, as they can be very shy.)

It will be great to meet with these Aquarists from all over the world to learn from one another, and hear talks given by the likes of Koji Wada, Julian Sprung, Steven Pro, and Bob Fenner to mention a few.

If you’ll be at the event feel free to say hello and be sure to check out Warner Marine and Ecotech Marine. I’ll likely be hopping around the vendor areas, where we’ll have some coverage and photos for those of you who cannot make it.

    One Trackback

    1. […] MACNA XX starts this Friday. I’ll be attending the event, so this reef news will be kept short and posting may be a bit sporadic until next week. We have some exciting things lined up and will have full coverage of the event. If you happen to see me there, feel free to say hi.  […]
