The makers of Bubble King continue to impress. We currently only have info regarding the RD2, and are waiting for reports of the new SuperMarin 300.
Many have seen images and information floating around that past 6 months or so reagarding the new RD2 DC controllable pump. RE released it at the show. Stats for the largest model are listed as 50,000 l/h (~13,000gph) with a max head of 10m (~32ft) with 30,000l/h (~8,000gph) flow at 1500 watts.
Not very applicable for the average reefer, but still impressive. 3 other models will be made ranging from a max of 12,000l/h to 25,000l/h with a maximum head of 4.5 meters-8.0 meters. Big thanks to Klaus and Korallenriff.de for the below info and images.
Update:
Still no word direct from Klaus on the new skimmer designs and hastelloy meshwheels… but we do have some images. Note the gently sloping necks implements on some of the classic BK Internal designs. You can also see black acrylic used on a Supermarin type… perhaps the Supermarin 300?
Also in, the Skim Clean that will reportedly be an option on Bubble King skimmer models. It works like a squeegee to keep the neck clean of skimmate and grunge for optimal performance. As neat as it is, we have to tip our hat to some Spanish reefers at Tuarrecife for their DIY method they created prior.
Here a video of the skim clean in action on a Bubble King Mini.
