Here are some photos from today. Our point and shoot also has a difficult time with the intensity of the light, we’ll try and get better pics up asap. The corals are all a bit dull from the front from the change in lighting angle, but they will color up with time. We added the second metal halide spotlight and these photos are with just the two fired up and no other accent lighting. (…and no the deltec will not be hanging on the tank, we are finishing up the plumbing and sump)It’s scary looking at the tank and thinking that all of that was crammed into a 20H nano!
The stag you see in the lower left corner of the tank was given to us by our friend Jose. He purchased the beauty at a LFS, but his female gold stripe maroon clown wanted nothing to do with it and so it ended up in our tank. Since we receieved the coral for free, we have named it the Blue Free Stag and have since given away a free fragment to Logan over at Stony Reef.
We’ll be trading and giving away free fragments of the coral as it colors up and matures, under the condition the person receiving the frag will do that same. Here’s an image of the piece in Jose’s reef after purchasing. We fragged it due to STN at the base, but hope to return it to it’s former colorful glory.
