There are only a few photos that float around of this beautiful fish, Paracentropyge boylei, but now we have video! It shows the shy nature and brilliant coloration of the amazing Peppermint Angelfish. To mimic the deepwater habitat it lives in, the water temperature of this system is kept at 69-71F and only illuminated by 2 florescent “CFL” type spotlights.

The specimen shown is only 2.5″, but will make your jaw drop. It’s absolutely beautiful. Click the photo and the video will pop up in a new window. Reduce the windows size for best viewing.

As we said before, for just shy of $20,000 this fish can be yours.

More information can be found about this particular specimen in the book “Angelfishes of the World” by Kiyoshi Endoh. Inobtainable in recent past years, there are now collections planned on an order by order basis in the near future for those who can afford the skyhigh pricetag. ^^^

Thanks for stopping by Quatro. As usual, you are correct ;) That same specimen, I believe has been in captivity for 5 years.

For those of you who do not own Angelfishes of the World, we highly suggest picking it up.

Here it is on Amazon.com for under $25 – Angelfishes of the World

Your flash videos don’t work! It states that I have version 1 flash player. I have version 10 and the whole Adobe Master Collection. Why doesn’t it just launch in a flash video window on top of the window that is already open????
