From the picture it looks like a massive increase in air input (judging by the size of the neck.) It also appears to have some custom enlarged volutes to achieve this. Update: The pumps are Aquabee 5000’s with custom volutes. For comparison, H&S also has a larger model skimmer utilizing 1 Aquabee 5000 with the stock volute.

A few more details, it’s essentially an AP1004 body with a drain added and modified to accept an AP1006 collection cup. Apparently this skimmer is rated similarly to the standard AP1006 with 6 eheim NW pumps. That particular skimmer is being run on a approx. 2000g fish holding system.
Hi Brandon,
Thanks for the extra info! Do you know if the pumps were modified in any way other than the volute/NW?
I’m not aware of any other modifications to the pumps. I haven’t actually had a chance to see the NW yet either, so I’m not positive on the design. I’m guessing that it is similar to the other pinwheel style Deltec impellers. Hopefully Marvin at D-D USA will be able to release some more detailed specs in the near future.
From what I understand the pinwheel is completely different. I would love to see what it looks like.
