We ordered these two today from Liveaquaria’s Diver’s Den. They should arrive Tuesday!Update: They have arrived and are eating. In the first 5 seconds of being introduced the Collare took a taste of a Montipora and Acropora… She’s beautiful though and we will definitely be keeping her. The Declivis is doing well, but may have injured one if it’s pelvic fins? It’s day one, and he’s eating well and swimming around but struggles a bit.
Here’s an image of the actual C.Declivis
The C. Collare is only 2inches! …but we were not so smart and did not save the LiveAquaria image before buying him. C. Collare does eat SPS polyps, but is not an obligate feeder and generally adapts well in captivity. Polyp extension on our Acroporas is a sacrifice we are willing to make for this beautiful little fish. Here’s an image of an Adult specimen. We hope to find a few more juvi’s to add as a school in the future.

The fish look gorgeous…is it terrible if I like the $30 collare better than the $300 declivis?
Um, hello. I can hear you.
I like the collare better as well, both nice fish though.
Fine by us
Both are favorites of ours. Fingers crossed they don’t do too much damage.
Collare’s are like Semilarvatus’ and are found in pairs and groups so we hope to find another one for the little guy.
Beautiful fish, and thanks for the compliment on my blog. I’ve linked you.
Excellent site too.
Hi~
I kept declivis and died a few weeks ago, but it was great fish, sometimes it picked SPS polyp but, you can avoid this if you eat more. :^)
It does not pick LPS and my Softcoral~
If you have any chance, I will add it in my tank again.
Good luck~!
I’m jealous
