we're having it built...should be ready in a few weeks. i've been getting in from work around this time and there's no way we'd ever get around to building a stand right now.

You are right, defintely need to get something up. I ordered the tank last week. 60x36x26 (238g), external overflow, viewable sides starphire, eurobraced w/ returns plumbed to the bracing. I decided on 3-4 vortechs for flow (no closed loop). Last night went to home depot and picked up a saw and everything to build the stand, and a hammer drill and masonry bits for drilling the rock. When are you heading to MI to build your stand?

mike this tank will be going in the little cove where the existing tank is and there isnt enough room, but it's a cool idea we'll keep in mind for when we move. you'll have to make a site for your new tank :p

jeffry- the tank is ~90g, it will be sps dominated with primarily butterflies and an angel or two.

Looks pretty nice to me. Hey random quirky idea Ive never seen done (so new I dont even know if I like it yet). What if you didnt position the tank squarely, and instead had it at an angle (like an oblong diamond, so the overflow was at the furthest corner from you). Wouldnt know without seeing it, but it might give you a similar sense of depth as how you have it, but appear wider than 24". Just a random idea....
