here are where things stand as of this morning…

    ph ~8.2

    no3 ~0

    alk ~8dkh

    ca~ 450ppm

    mg ~1500ppm

mag and calcium are too high for our tastes. the 450 ca explains the rampant coralline growth that has been bothering me. with the growth of the corals we’re no longer able to scrape it clean off of the bottom glass. we will do a 10% water change this weekend which should drop the mag to ~1450. today we will hold off on the ca 2-part to let the levels drop back to the 420 range.

i suspect that po4 has increased based on coral coloration. we have been feeding mysis heavily without filtering out the water…i’ll dose .5ml vodka+.1ml acetate today to help lower those levels.

other than that everything looks good and growth is noticeable daily on some corals. we have switched back to 2×6025′s with one modified by cutting away part of the “shield” the corals seem to be appreciating the new flow.
